First decade : a happy childhood on the farm
Second decade : schooling, farm work, leaving home
Third decade : going into business, courtship, marriage
Fourth decade : family life, children to clothe, feed and educate, prospecting in Nova Scotia
Fifth decade : ambitious to gain financial success, developing the Brooks' estate
Sixth decade : in demand as a builder, things prosperous but saddened by the bereavement of her who's companionship and love I enjoyed for thirty years
Seventh decade : blessed by grandchildren, business fairly good, saddened by death of my ninety-two year old mother
Eighth decade : trips, business and mountain climbing
Ninth decade : doing repairs on my houses, jackknife carving, western and southern trips
Tenth decade : building articles of furniture for my grandchildren, some repairs on my houses, blessed with three lovely great grandchildren
